The Quest

It was sometime in early 2012 that I became aware of Martino’s Restaurant on Chicago’s north side.  For obvious reasons, it was a destination that Carol and I had to make part of our travels.  It wasn’t til October that year that we finally got around to making the trip happen.  And while that would be interesting enough on its own to warrant a mention here in Good Life Destinations, what I discovered while investigating the restaurant has prompted a quest for Carol and me, one that I look forward to fulfilling with much anticipation.

While searching for information about Martino’s in Chicago, I found that there are (currently) 30 restaurants, pizzerias, ristorantes, etc. that are called “Martino’s” around the world.  So why not visit every one of them?  A tall order, though.  Two are in the UK and who knows if or when we’ll get back there.  There are also locations in California, Nevada and Oregon...not exactly around the corner.  But we already have designs on 14 of the 30 and I suspect by the end of 2013, we’ll have the box ticked on those.

I plan to document the quest here in this section of our website because I imagine there will be some interesting adventures along the path to achieving all 30 Martino’s around the globe.  I hope you enjoy following along.  Mangia, mangia!
