Dubuque, Iowa

On our many visits to the Field of Dreams baseball field in Dyersville, Iowa, we passed through Dubuque and almost always commented how we should spend a little time in this river city.  So in September 2013, we spent a day and night in Dubuque, which included lunch at the Diamond Jo Casino buffet and riverboat cruise on the mighty Mississippi River in the afternoon.  We stayed at the Redstone Inn & Suites, pictured right, where we were taken care of royally by Robert Chu, the innkeeper.  And for dinner, we opted for the Town Clock Inn, a unique pizzeria a couple blocks from our digs.  After dinner, we opened a bottle of wine on the front porch of the inn and relaxed while watching the cars go by.  It was a great visit and we hope to get back to Dubuque again someday.  See ya soon!
