Bagna - a little bowl of delight
This is another little dish that I’d forgotten about although it was something we had a lot as we were growing up. It’s simply a small dish of salad dressing that you dip raw salad vegetables into. Again, if not for these dinners, it would have stayed a lost memory for me and because it’s so good, I’m really glad Sandra remembered it.
Garlic
Oil
Vinegar
Salt and freshly ground pepper
This is really mixed to taste. Put a small amount of the ingredients into small serving bowls. Dip celery and sliced bell peppers into the mixture. We typically had this instead of a lettuce salad.
In this photo of me enjoying my cuyettas at GMD 4, you can see the bowl of Bagna. You can also see Grandpa’s silverware that Sandra surprised us with at GMD 3...a really cool memory as I hadn’t seen this cutlery for years and years.
